A few pictures taken on the north shore of Lake Superior in Ontario last weekend. Spectacular nature and seems like a natural environment for a Saab.

A quickie from the Driveway. My 2006 parked in front of the 1986. My wife parks her 2005 in front of the 1995 lol

You probably have seen enough of my 9-5 but I like to find new and interesting locations for pictures. Return to the Raco Army Airfield in the Michigan Upper Peninsula.
Was here with my 9-4X as well. This deserted airfield in the middle of nowhere is just fascinating. More pictures here: https://plus.google.com/photos/11357...10469878311233

Excuse the sorry state of the car, it's just done a 2,500 mile tour of Scotland.

Lucky guy getting the 9-5 in a manual so it looks good to me! One of the highlights of my life was doing a tour of Scotland's Grampians with my former rally partner in an 80's Sierra. Great roads, great food and the car wasn't half bad. A 9-5 would have made it a bit more posh.
That's an old UK expression isn't it? Port Out Starboard Home, kept the hot sun off the cabin in summer touring.Last edited by tunnanxwd; 27 October 2013 at 20:08.

I actually struggled to find a manual. Most high end models (or assumed high end models, BMW, MERC etc.) are mostly auto's. I didn't expect it from Saab. I reckon about one third of Saabs are manual. I must have lucked out with my first one as I just came across it in a dealership when I was looking for something diesel. Woops. I actually had to try and search for one near me when I went on the hunt for one again. I've driven auto's before and I have to say I don't like them. There's always that hesitation when you want to pull away and it's never in the gear/rev range I want it to be in.
I've driven BMW's, Mercs, Audi's, Jaguars and everything else, but there's just something about putting your foot down in the 9-5 when your in a hurry. It doesn't feel rushed. It's just like "Oh, we're going are we? Allow me..." It kind of just whooshes you along. It's also more than capable of embarrassing a few of those "posh" models too. I don't race, but when I want to have a little fun, I quite like putting the Porsche/Merc/Audi that's been up my arse for the last 5 miles in it's place when they try to overtake.
I've never seen the Saab as posh or anything like that. I've always tried to be a bit different when I choose my cars. It is a really nice drive though, especially on those long drives. Great food? You must not have tried haggis.

I'll bet—if you didn't need food or sleep—you could drive that car unceasingly for days. The 9-5 seats are that good. It's likely there's no spot in the universe more comfortable.

This was the day I bought the car in October of 2012, standing in the driveway of its previous owner. I will post some more interesting photos of my SAABs when I get a chance, just joined today and wanted to get something up.Last edited by langerking; 06 November 2013 at 21:25.
