Saab 9-3 with Viper V10 engine

This quite an amazing project. I don't really understand why you would want to put a V10 Viper engine in a Saab 9-3 but I wouldn't mind taking it for a drive.

Put it in a truck and it's probably the most useless engine ever.. put it in a 9-3 wagon with a custom subframe and suspension system... best sleeper ever.

Now comes the reality check once the scholngs have receded back up the pant legs and are tucked back in their socks.

How practical and tractable a car was this? Now I have never driven a Viper and fully acknowledge as a former Corvette owner a healthy respect for them to the point of cowering behind the gas pump hoping not to be noticed. Stark contrast to the Testa that lived down the road that I would have loved a bit of quality "tete a tete" or fender to fender time with.

What I remember are the tests of the Viper that said yeah .. fast as hell but also hot cramped and noisy. If the thermometer reads 85 just leave it at home because the trans tunnel will be bringing the interior up past the par-boil point. Keep in mind that driving and ownership are not unless you have a true "stable", cherry picking the car to match the barometer and temp of the day.

What Saab should have been building down a notch or two. Which brings to mind that 9-7 Aero (Chev), so good looking too.

I'm sure that car is a beast to drive, yet utterly impractical. Throwing a rear end under the rear probably seriously compromises the cargo area.

I keep seeing a 9-7x Aero at a local used car dealer. The last thing I need is a gas sucking V8, but I like the 9-7x and the Trailblazer SS(puts flame suit on).

yes, because clearly the main concern when building this was practicality....
