Weird Tailight, Reverse Light, Rear Fog Light issue
Ok, so my left rear upper taillight is out, plus no right rear fog light, plus no right reverse light. No burnt out lighting fuses. no burnt out bulbs. But, I do have the vehicle due for service message, but i have already done service on my own, just cant turn off the message.
Anyone have a clue on the issue here?

Not a clue. Do the brake lights work? Also what year is it?
As far as I know the 9-3 only has one rear fog light. I'm pretty sure it's on the left on my 07 93 SC.

Pretty Sure its not reverse switch
I get one reverse light ot light up, so I don't think it is the reverse switch. Starting to think it is wiring.

How did you check the bulbs? You could try to switch them from one side to the other.

good note, thanks.
then, check:
-with a resistor tester, check continuity between wires right/left reverse light in connectors of the tail-lamps. no continuity, that's meaning wire cut in splice.
-the splice in the half way between the rh/lh tail-lamps in the wiring harness.

- 2006 9-3 Aero
I have an 2006 9-3 aero and my wife said that one of the fog libhts in the back was out, So I took apart the other side to see why it wasn't working and found that there wasn't a bulb in the right side(Passenger side) I couldn't understand why they would leave a bulb out but i found one that fit and put it in and it worked, But now you have me wondering if it wasn't ment to have one over on the right side why is it working. I think that when the wife gets home today I will go and see if they are still working. Why would they only have one fog light in the rear of the car.? Sorry I know this is a late answer but I just found this site.

Saabs have only one rear foglight. If there are two, they can be easily confused for brake lights. And if there are two rear fog lights, brake lights will be much more difficult to see. It's done for safety reasons.
The reason there are working connections for both sides is to make it easier for left- and right-hand drive cars without any modifications needed.
