    Saab 93 - Door Mirrors

I have a 2008 model 93 Sportswagon, 1.9 TDi Vector Sport and the door mirror on the passenger side has come off.

The glass is not broken, it is still attached to the black plastic mount.

I am looking for a guide on how to take this apart and re-fix correctly as no matter how much push and shoving, I cant get it to clip back on to the motor/main mirror assembly.

Having looked through the forum, I could not find any, can anyone advise?
Once I have done this myself, I shall write up a guide to share.

    Many Thanks.

    Simon

Welcome Simon. I added the instructions for the Saab 9-3 mirrors in this thread. It sure seems a but tricky to take it apart without these instructions.

I think you just need the second post because you probably don't have to remove the entire mirror for what you're trying to do.

Hope this helps and thanks for sharing any details about the procedure with others.

Hey Wulf, thanks for the reply and the link.
I saw the 9-5 link and thought maybe it would be the same.

Unhooking those springs looks likes its going to be fun, there is not much clearance between the glass and the body.
Had a quick go at lunch today, not easy

One observation from the link you gave, the image F84R102 which follows after the spring removal, shows the spring clips still in place, when they should have been removed. In fact all images of the rear of the mirror show the spring in place. Is that just an error in those images?
Once the springs are removed, the mirror and its backing should come away and only be connected by the heater wires?

    Many thanks in advance.

Sorry, I have never done this myself. These instructions are from the Saab Workshop manual and I hope they know what they are doing.
