One of my favorite wagons, but not a Saab! Looks great, but it needs to ditch that bug guard.

If you buy a 2010 or 2011 there are no maintenance costs for 3 years or 36,000 miles and the bumper-to-bumper warranty covers almost everything for 4 years or 50,000 miles.

The H6 3.0 is a good engine ... just not nearly as much fun as a 2.3T!
And Ken, my 2005 has 197,500 MILES in it ... and only once has it ever left me at the side of the road and NEVER have I felt that I couldn't just get into it and drive out to see you for coffee! ;-)
    It'd be nice to pop in the WRX/Forester XT/Legacy GT's 2.5T !

Yeah not my fave feature, but does keep bug splatters and rock dings off the hood. Better than a bra, 'tho eh, 'bro

In future I might get the lower claddings re-painted to darker color like this:

Ah well, as others mentioned, you'll be back when you see the light. And you can keep Boon company and form a group of ex-Saab/Subaru owners who still hang out with the friendliest and coolest group of Saab owners.

Are there any good Subaru forums?

Grats on the new ride, Ken. You'll be back, though.

Wulf tried the whole not having a Saab thing, too, but as you can tell it didn't quite work.. how long did that Merc wagon last, Wulf?

That 9-5 Aero wagon I mentioned in that post is actually in SCWC, so in a way it's already part of the big happy family

And I'll see Matilda enough times at our meets or throughout the year .... I was told I have full visitation rights

No worries, I won't really be gone in any way from Saabs, and certainly not away from SW or SC.

    That would go down well!

I was very close (filling out the papers close) to buying a new Subaru Liberty (think you call it a Legacy*) wagon in '98 but was wooed at the last minute by the Accord's feeling of absolute quality (a feeling reinforced by 13 years of trouble-free motoring). Liberty was certainly a more entertaining drive though.

Like Ken I'm often tempted by 9-5s but wary of the "issues", but when the Accord finally starts feeling its age will probably take the plunge with a 9-5 wagon ... either that or a V70.

*BTW I always assumed Outback was an Australia-only model name!

I didn't know the Legacy is not a world-wide moniker. As for the Outback name, it prolly only used in countries where people actually know the Crocodile Dundee movies and know what the term means

    Some interesting Wikifacts:

The Legacy bears the name Liberty in Australia out of deference for Legacy Australia, a veterans' assistance organization.
Christened the Legacy Outback, after the rugged areas of Australia, Australian actor Paul Hogan was the spokesman in the North American market, playing off the Australian name of the vehicle and portraying the vehicle as a capable and more efficient alternative to larger, truck-based SUVs.
