Usually, people change out MAFs about every 60k on these cars as "just in case" measure, might be worth it if yours is hovering at 130-135k.

Personally, I think E85 would be fantastic if the price difference between it and regular gasoline were more substantial (a dollar or more a gallon cheaper.) Working in engine management systems, I've had good discussions with some of my co-workers that if we made the right cal (calibration) to the software, we could have awesome performance as well as fuel economy. There are a few instances out there where turbo cars have seen improvement in both running on ethanol, but most of the time when it happens, it's a fluke.

i have replaced a fuel pump where 1 week after installation, the pump died again. and after replacing it again the pump is going strong for 3 years now. from the way your pressure gauge is showing, its trying to pump psi but not reaching the correct pressure with the ignition on. i have a 2005 nissan altima that has the same problem as yours but not as bad, it had a hard starting issue, it took 3 cranks to start to car, the nissan dealer replaced the pump 3 times, now im at 95,000 miles and the same thing is happening again. i will do some research on what the correct psi is needed for the 4 cyl saab. i will reply back in the thread

Thanks B, I think the correct fuel pressure is supposed to be around 40 psi, but I'm not sure. Since I replaced my FPR, I'm going to have to rent the fuel pressure tester again to re-check. It's just been a little cold here in Chicago to be working outside.

Had a similar problem, replaced check valve, bought a fuel pressure gauge, and it read zero and hits 40 as soon as I turn on the key. Problem comes and goes.
