    My friend tried this on his '04 9-5. No dice. He re soldered all the connections and put it back in the car and still had problems with the headlight failure. So he had to buy a new relay which will be put in tomorrow.

    In my case it worked...
    I said: Possible fix, check the cables connections.

    I have no doubt it works in some, or most, cases. His was just too far gone. All of the connections were broken. I pulled the fuse panel on it and checked all the wiring and it was fine.

    I taped my relay to the latch and it has been working great so far the past 2 weeks but I don't expect it to last forever.

    I had mine out and I couldn't even figure out how to remove the orange cover. So how does it come apart w/o breaking?

    Have repaired about 20 of these relays by resoldering all of the connections as shown above, they can be cracked even though the cracks cannot be seen.

    Small screwdriver,opposite sides and pop it off.
