Man, that's quite a collection. I hope it stays in Trollhättan and that the museum stays open. I'd hate for that collection to get spread around the world in private garages where these cars won't be seen again.

The bidding is supposed to be closed by now so it will be interesting to see what's going to happen. A large automobile museum (Louwman) in the Netherlands is interested in the UrSaab. It's a very nice museum in a brand new building with a pretty large collection of Spykers as well. I hope many of them end up in museums rather than private collections.
THE HAGUE - The Louwman Museum in The Hague, where one of the finest and most valuable collections in the automotive world is gathered in the race for the "Ursaab. This is the first prototype of the Swedish plant in 1946, reflecting the early models 92, 93 and 96 were developed, and that like all other cars of the bankrupt company is now presented for sale.

City of Trollhättan, Saab AB and the Wallenberg Foundation - where have you guys that make the Saab Museum in Trollhättan remain. Together, they pay 28 million for the entire car collection.
- This feels understood very well. Saab cars are part of Trollhättan's legacy and now we have saved a piece of Swedish industrial history. But it had definitely not been working without support from Saab AB, the Wallenberg Foundation, and Västra Götaland. We are very grateful to these partners also saw value in the museum and the cars, said Mayor Paul Akerlund, who also points out the need for a formal approval of Trollhättan city council before the purchase is fully implemented.
A lot has happened since Saab by the end of December, went bankrupt. Two bankruptcy trustee was appointed, and later a third co-administrators.
They quickly realized that the money needed to keep Saab's bankruptcy alive. And soon it became clear that the Saab museum that could bring up the first million.
And now it is clear - the museum will remain in Trollhattan. Regarding the operation will Trollhättan City and Region Västra Götaland to be responsible for it.
- We consider it very important to preserve the Swedish industrial history. That collection is now staying in Sweden and Trollhättan is important to us, the cars are also part of our company heritage, says Carina Brorman, Communications Director at Saab AB in a statement.
P4 West has previously reported that the region, Trollhättan and a collection of Saab veterans wanted to take over the running of the museum.

28 million SEK is about 4 million USD. That must include everything because if you divide that by 120, it would come out to $33K per car. Some of those are special cars but not that special.
According to TTELA:
For the municipality pays about 14 million, defense group Saab AB around 8 and the Wallenberg Foundation donates the rest
If only Saab AB and the Wallenbergs would buy the entire company..
