Between now and April, there will be news about Saab's liquidation. There is a theoretical chance that Saab will resume making cars. If this happens, the suspense will continue, first as plans are made, then as the new venture has its normal ups and downs as far as profitability and survival. If it doesn't happen, Saab, as a car company, will have had a prolonged and slow demise from April 2011 to maybe April 2012.

I presume Saabworld will reflect on the above course of events. If the worse happens and Saab completely liquidates, I would expect around early summer that liquidation news will become old news. The community would probably shift to discussion about Saab meetings, repair questions, and Saab history, not wailing. The Delorean websites don't regret over the shut down of that company. Instead, one can learn which parts are hard to find and who is trading/selling parts.

I use my 9-3 as a daily driver. At some point in time, this will no longer be possible. If Saab were to continue, I would expect to keep my 2005 car until 2015-2018. This may or may not change. My classic 900 did not require a hard to get part until it was 12 years old. That potentially hard to get part, the ECU, was easy to get at that time but an ECU might be hard to get if Saab liquidates. I'm not sure.

I must admit, the quiet after the 2011 storm of ups and downs, good news and bad news, go and no-go as far as Saab is concerned is kind of nice. Perhaps the silence after the storm will provide a good basis for future nice and calm weather.

And if vertical scope and autoguides continue to screw up the forums they own, more and more members will show up here.
