The Google project
OK chaps we have a crisis here. Google "saab forum" and SW is result number 12 -- not even page one!
Any web gurus know a few tricks to move us up the ladder?

SW shows up on the first page when I Google "Saab Forum". Sometimes it's in 5th or 6th place but also sometimes near the bottom of the first page of results. But that's on google.com. I tried google.com.au and there it shows in 12th place like you mentioned.
Don't Google searches look at cookies on your computers and checks to see which sites you visited before and adjusts search results? I think I read something about that.
Saab UK - 11th place
Saab NL - 19th place
Google US - 9th place
Google AU - 12th place
When I search for "Saab 9-5 sludge", these two threads on SW come up in 1st and 2nd place.

The 3rd result is this thread from SC which was started in 2005

I tried google.com and google.co.uk -- still number 12! But glad to hear we're on the front page in the US.
Strangely, number 3 is saabforum.org, which is basically dead.
Number 5 is saabforums.com, also on life support.
Number 9 is saabing.com -- the forum consists of spam.

Make sure you are not logged into google when you are performing search engine result tests because Google has personalized search result placement now-a-days
On bing, saabworld is not on page one - not a big deal...
On Google, when I am logged out its #5, however the page title could be updated to include a description and the description could be longer.
Right now it just looks like this
SaabWorld
http://saabworld.net/forums
Saab forum, registry, blog, news, classifieds, events.
Which is obviously very plain and compared to the other listings, it makes Saab World look like it probably does not contain much content.

Wulf... With Google's new panda update, it is important that when you post articles here that are linked from somewhere else, you add your own introduction paragraph or abstract + opinions to the top to help make the content here on your site "unique".
The newest panda update hits "scraper" sites very hard - or sites that just aggregate and re-publish existing content. If you add your own unique content to the mix it will help avoid this site from getting penalized by that. Comments help a lot too... And eventually push your site up..
