Fuel Mileage?
Hello, all! My wife and I are planning a road trip this summer, so I was wondering what the best fuel economy everyone has gotten with their Aero's with exclusive highway driving and what range you've experienced? It will be going from Denver, CO to Reno, NV, so very minimal mountain driving, mostly flat highway.
Trying to plan my fuel stops in advance. I could take it out on the highway and drive it for 500 miles, I suppose, and answer my own question, but I think asking you lot would be quicker(and less expensive)

I drive 70 miles a day, my 2006 Combi averages 27mpg over 2000 miles. Quite a bit of heavy freeway traffic which pulls the mpg down. If I just reset it and drive very reasonably- easy on the throttle, keep the speed under 65, and coast downhill, I can average over 30 on a pure freeway trip. As they always say and it's true- the mileage you get depends on how you drive. When in town only, and off and on the throttle alot, it will only average around 20. I measure by both the display and the odometer/fuel to fill. they are very close. The miles to empty is not as accurate from what i can tell.

My best was 34MPG on stock software in my Aero. Drove from Rochester, NY to Long Island and used just over a half tank, then was able to put another 100-150 miles of "around town/city" driving on it before I decided to refill and make the drive home. My most recent trip out there on the tuned software however... yeah, I ran out of gas 10 miles short of my destination on the eastern end of the Long Island Expressway...

I can easily get 32-33mpg driving 70-75mph on pure highway trips.

Depending on wind you can get 28-33 mpg going at 70-75 mph.

...if you drive with the a/c on, it would be harder on the gas. Try and see what you get with it on to get a better idea when the weather warms up. My 1st Aero in tip top shape a few years back saw 22-23 mpg. It was a trip to Great Adventure in NJ via Queens, NY on a hot summer day in August with 5 passengers and a/c running with good flow of traffic...
