Question Dumbest "Saab Stuff" you ever bought?

I was looking at that thread on the Saab USA liquadation and flame me but like American Pickers or Pawn Stars, I would have been like a kid in a candy shop but just getting some "Saab Stuff" from the Mother Ship I'm sure I would have come home with something dumb. I still have the license plate they gave me with the 1984 and the mugs and stuff but what is the dumbest "Saab Porn" or Saab-ah-phinalia you ever lugged home?

Me? Pretty stupid of course. I saw an ad for the tires from the Saab entry that did "Lap Around America" which was the toned down version of the Car & Driver sponsored .. CANNON BALL BAKER SWAMP TO STEAMING SWAMP MEMORIAL TROPHY DASH .. the guy was ditching all of the parts like the driving lights and stuff before it went back to "family sedan duty".

So, like a teenager kid who won a date with ... anyway I drover like 6 hours to pick up these tires which were really nothing special but a tad wider and on steel rims ... spent (wasted) back then like about $150 and drove 6 hours home. I was there, first in line when the tire shop opened to have them balanced and put on; high speed balanced no less cause we are talking Saab performance here right?

After the smoke cleared the next morning and I took a good look at them, it hit me that I was now the proud owner of some damned near bald pieces of ... but wide bald tires ... pieces of Saab history. Gone were any illusions of the famous rally driver "Tunny Carlsson" and ... for that same amount of money not to mention a spent vacation day, I could have had a real cool set of Shelby/Saab Mini-Lites and brand new Michelin X with the sport tread.

I did take them out and give them a good trashing on a back road or two and with the threads starting to show about a month later they were off to the great tire shredder in the sky. So much for "Lap Around America" and history.

Does anyone even remember the Cannonball or Lap Around ... ??

A SAAB watch, circa 2003. The one with the turbo gauge. Wasn't exactly a piece-de-resistance in terms of quality parts or workmanship

Brochures.. I must say, too many brochures. Whenever I see a good lot on eBay, I can't help myself to buy it. I probably will never read all of them but still want to have them. Oh, and the ink smells nice..

I also bought a few promotional items like pens. They are nice but they are just pens with the Saab name on it.

I just paid about $6 for a Saab and Volvo stamp because I came across this picture for a new avatar and couldn't resist clicking Buy-it-Now. I wasn't even looking for stamps! I don't know if these are rare or not but maybe they will be worth $7 some day.. or $0.70 It's an addiction, I tell ya..

Hirsch! Be sure you use a dab of white grease on them. Got mine from the dealer who never said a word.

A month later his bone headed mech had to "break" them off and horribly scarred my Aero wheels . It looks like this "Saab only" ape tried to use an air gun leaving deep gouges.

And yes, as a former air mech I should have thought about elecro-galvanic stuff. And he dealer had the balls to charge me for new ones. We will "negotiate" perhaps tomorrow.

At least try to use a spritz of WD or penetrating earl; you may get lucky.

Old brochures, stamps and models sound like way cool stuff. I had the one 1989 vert the dealer gave mw lifted (stolen), from my desk at work.

    I said D-U-M-M stuff!

I would have bought a Saab stamp in a flash.

If I ever see a vintage Safir at the right price .... OK sweet cheeks medical or not, I think a plane is just the touch the front yard needed.
