Proud New Owner
I purchased a 99 9-3 SE hatch today, and I already love it. Brand new to the Saab world, I know nothing about them (getting it into reverse was fun). I am an avid car enthusiast and I have rebuilt cars from the ground up, mainly Japanese and German cars though. I look forward to learning from you all and hopefully getting some advice/help when needed.
Questions already:
1) What is a good lowering spring option? I have already decided on KYB GR-2 shocks. Yes I know they are not ideal, but I've had success with them on other vehicles if I stay around a 1.5" drop or less. Right now I am leaning towards Eibach Pro's. Does anyone know anything about the B&G springs?
2) Oil leak from the camshaft seal. Is this common?
3) Driver's-side window comes off track. Again, is this common?
4) What is a good website for reasonably prices replacement parts? There are numerous small parts that need fixed, such as a cracked headlight lense and some interior pieces. I don't expect a pull and pay to have many Saabs in their yard.,
Thanks guys!

Your best bet for OEM/replacement parts are either www.thesaabsite.com or eEuroparts.com® :: Welcome to eEuroparts.com - Your Home for eEuropean Auto Parts. For performance parts, I'd suggest Taliaferro Imports, Inc.. Also, Used Saab Parts: Goldwing Recycled Saab Parts specializes in used parts, but their prices are hit or miss.
Driver's side window, not real common, but you are certainly not the first. It's typically either broken plastic rollers/bushing (cheap, and the symptom is the window fails to go up and/or down straight--it turns). The second cause is the window regulator which is pretty pricey (~$150-180).
Not sure about the oil leak.
I've heard good things about the Koni springs (especially when paired with the Koni dampers), and I know that Vogtland is another choice but haven't heard anything about them.Free SaabWorld Stickers
