Mine doesn't have rear fog lamps so I assume the Aero doesn't have them either. I don't have front fog lamps but it seems normal on newer cars you need to turn them on every time you start the engine.

Yes but i though maybe auto light will turn them on when fog detected. I heard it can change main beam when its rainy, maybe it can control fog lamps as well

- 2011 9-4x, 2008 9-3 Aero, had 2005 9-3 Arc, '93 9000CSE, '86 9000Turbo
On my former 1993 9000 CSE front fog lights were a push button to toggle on/off. Push in for On, pop out for Off. (I forget how the rear fog light was). Unless you pushed it, it stayed in its current position.. So if you had them on when you turned the car off, the next time you started the car, they were still in the on position. They came on with the headlight switch in the AUTO or ON positions. I'm guessing that is how you wish your 9-4x was?
On my former 2005 9-3 Arc and my Wife's 2008 9-3 Aero, front and rear fog lights always have to be manually turned on each time you started the car, even if the headlights were in the AUTO position. i.e. "on/off" position isn't remembered when you turn the car off.
Since only the 9-4x Aero had fog lights, my 2011 9-4x Prem XWD does not have them up front. I don't see anything that leads me to believe there is a rear fog light either. Per the owner's manual at least, turning on the fog lights in the Aero is not automatic, the driver must do it, and it looks similar to how our 9-3's work.
