No wonder, I was thinking of the Aral Sea, not Namibia. The Aral Sea was in the former USSR but the lake bed has mostly dried up.

Moser Tower and Millennium Carillon, Naperville, Illinois, USA. A southwestern suburb of Chicago.
I didn't know this place existed until now. I thought it might have been a memorial at Cantigny (Wheaton, Illinois).
