Correct! The memorial is in northern France. It is also shown on the Canadian $20 bill. Vimy Ridge was unofficially when Canada got its national identity, that it was separate from Britain. True, it was a separate country before then but Vimy Ridge was a milestone. At least, that is what I've been led to believe.
Now, it's Dappah's turn to post a picture for everyone to guess!

1900 acres and 26 miles of lake shoreline. The vast recreational amenities of Stonewall Resort engage guests of every age. Dining in our three restaurants, indulging in the full-service spa and rounds on the gorgeous 7,149-yard Arnold Palmer Signature Golf Course make days at Stonewall “Far from Ordinary.”
This building was designed by a famous architect, who also co-designed a capital city of a country and many of the prominent buildings in that city. This particular building, in the same style as that capital city, is in Europe. It's close to the close to town airport (not close to the large international airport), but this hint is probably not helpful. People who work here sometimes do not like the large open work rooms, which predominate, instead of smaller private offices.

Correct picture.
NOT in Europe and quite far away.
Clue 1 - almost as far away as you can go.
Clue 2 - not an island - different seas not the same piece of water.
more clues in 3 days if you need them!Last edited by Gepe; 22 March 2017 at 11:50. Reason: Additional info

Additional clues may be needed! Thought it was a building in Mexico but the building I had in mind is different.

OK Dave - Far SOUTH and a different continent to both you (North America?) and I (Europe).
I took this photograph so it may not be a match for Mr Google.
Two more days for more clues.

I will have to wait for more clues. It could be near this place.
