The Statue of Brothers is a symbol of the Korean War at the War Memorial of Korea in Seoul. The statue is located in the south-west corner of the exterior exhibit area.
From the uniform - US? and post WWII. So I looked for Vietnam and Korea - first search - .

    Will upload later tonight.

This photo is going to be very tough to solve. Here's my thought process...

cars to the right: too small to see. Often cars are not helpful but sometimes they exclude certain countries. For example, RHD or LHD.
plants: I'm not a botanist or plant expert
flag pole near the cars: not helpful to me but someone in this world may know of a pole near the car park.

Is it the Lochalsh Hotel parking lot? They have a hotel parking lot with a flag pole like that.

The above link is a photo from 1990. There are bollards (short concrete poles to prevent road traffic from going past something) by the pole, just like in Gepe's photo.

If I am correct, I am amazed! It would be like finding a needle in the haystack.

ONE LARGE COCONUT for the man in Seattle.
Perfect answer but it was the mountains in the background I was wanting - only joking!
The bridge is the rather infamous Skye Bridge. Built for profit and tolls although it linked the same public road at either end! Eventually after much civil unrest, failing to pay tolls etc the government eventually did the right thing and bought-out the contract.
The bollards were to stop cars rolling into the sea.
The older picture shows the cars on the ferry slip prior to the bridge being built.
Dave, very well done. A worthy adversary. Thank you.

Thank you for the interesting story.

I will post a new picture but not today. I want to enjoy the feeling of finding the answer to what I thought was an impossible question!

Size: 37.8 KBDave FYI - the complete photograph - the question was an edited one without the hotel name (a bit of a giveaway)

Sorry, not correct. It is not a consulate but the home of a national leader. I've only seen it in pictures but can say that is is not a palace but not much more than a modest house.
