Found it after a bit of searching: The African Renaissance Monument (French: Le Monument de la Renaissance Africaine) is a 49 meter tall bronze statue located on top of one of the twin hills known as Collines des Mamelles, outside Dakar, Senegal. .It is the tallest statue in Africa.

Where did I take this picture a month ago?

    Correct!

The above picture appeared difficult at first. But wait! Japanese flag. Could be a red herring and the photo is of Omaha, Nebraska but probably not. Those kids' hats look Japanese.

The arch? Don't know. But wait. The building seen through the arch is the famous building in ruins from Hiroshima.

That's it! Hiroshima, Japan. Home of Mazda cars and supposedly has a Mazda museum.

In my opinion, there is no substitute for a Saab. However, the closest thing might be a BMW, VW, Audi, Mazda, or Volvo.

Clue: Roughly equivalent to the White House or 10 Downing Street.

Great detective work Dave. I figured just the arch would be too difficult and just the building too easy so made sure there were some clues.

As for Gepe's picture, I am guessing it is his castle where he lives.

Frank - not me that's the staff quarters!
Maybe thought of a castle - but not, just a Country House (that's today's clue).
As for the country - tomorrow's clue.

I recognize that photo! But thick as I am, I didn't know it until recently, when there was some Brexit planning there. It's the Prime Minister's country home, Chequers. Not Mrs. May's country home but the Prime Minister's, which she is for a little longer. Sort of like the American equivalent to Camp David.

Story, not a hint. I have visited this place but only saw the gate. The gate looks like a plain, solid wooden door, like a garage door, except it swings to the side. The road is blocked by a huge wooden door-like gate. You can't see any of the buildings.

The neighbor must hate it. Tourists drive to the gate. See nothing then turn around. Probably some of them use the neighbor's driveway to turn around. The gate is located around the top right corner of the photo.

Dave - You have won a coconut! Well done.
Now I have to start thinking again
