Clue 2 - In the distance there is a rather distinctive mountain.

Water to the right - Indian Ocean (False Bay)
Looking North towards Cape Town and Table Mountain.
Where am I - Just off Cape Point, South Africa - compare with

Where was I a few days ago? Like Gepe's picture, this is as far as you can go on this island.

I was concentrating on Australia and South Africa but couldn't find the place.

The new picture should be called Dog Bite Island. No answer yet but a scenic photo!

A big hint may be needed in order to solve the puzzle, like which lake the island is located, if it is one of the Great Lakes. Either that or I have been searching the wrong part of the world.

It's a bit bigger than a lake. Gepe lives on this island and he has to drive a while before he reaches this end.
