Missing black shield underneath car ?

Got this 2008 9-5 last month....
I was under the 9-5 this last weekend changing the transmission fluid and noticed There was a large black molded plastic shield of sorts on the drivers side underneath, a couple feet long by a foot wide. On the corresponding passenger side, there was none but it looked like one should have been there and the places it would be fastened were all intact with the u-type retainer nuts in place.

So my question is... am I missing this shield for the other side ? If so, what would the name of this part be ? and should I get a replacement (is it important ? )... Thanks

On the 9-5, there should be one long shield under the front bumper that protects radiator, a/c condenser, oil cooler etc, and on the passenger side there should shield to protect the serpentine belt, crank pulley, etc which runs under the oil pan, along the subframe and up into the wheel well. Never seen a driver side under shield.

Actually, I had that backwards.... There is a shield on the passenger side, covering the belt,etc. but not on the drivers side, just the retaining nuts in the identical mounting spots. Strange the nuts would be there if they never had a shield there... go figure.
