    Mirror cover comes off

I have a 2007 Saab 93 sport sedan and the mirror cover on the passenger side is coming off. I tried to push it back in, but it is still moving a bit and it doesn't look like it's going to hang on for long. Any advice on how I should fix this?

    Thanks,
    Cris

I was hoping for a more permanent solution, like maybe the cover can snap in place without any glue being involved. I guess glue is the only option now...

    Thanks for your reply.

Here is some more information about the door mirror and covers. http://saabworld.net/f69/door-mirrors-saab-9-3-a-2077/

It looks like it is held in place with some clips.

Had the same issue with my 2006 SC. I caught the lip of the mirror cover on my garage door rail when I was backing out and it ripped off and would not go back on. Some of the plastic clips on the cover that hold it on had broken. Bugger!! However, all was not lost.

If you look carefully at the cover you can see some elevated posts that look like they have been formed to accept a screw. Take off the mirror glass from the frame, see instructions above. You can see that these posts on the mirror cover line up with holes in the mirror frame. Looks like the designers at some stage were thinking of this permanent fix as it is all there.

I took some of the screws shown above in Step # 8 to secure the cover to the frame. Be careful not to overtighten and strip the plastic in the mirror cover. You have to fiddle a bit to get the cover to line up properly and depending on how clips are broken it not going to close up against the black frame as tightly as before. Just make sure it fits tight on the top to stop/prevent water ingress. Hope this helps.
