Yeah our fuel prices are extortionate

Think we must of been the only people to fill up in the only gas station near death valley and still think their price wasn't too bad

It could be worse: Think our petrol costs a lot? Well it could be worse, you could be in Norway - Yahoo! Finance UK

That's the first comparison I have seen that takes average income into account. Comparing fuel (and car) prices usually isn't much use if you don't consider anything else like income and expenses.

It's good to note that European octane numbers are higher than US octane numbers because they are measured differently. Euro octane is 5 points higher than US. So, that 98 octane is 93 in the US, and the 95 is 90 in the US.

I'd still have bought a TTiD Saab diesel had they ever brought them over for the 2010MY as they HAD planned to. Shame really - 40-60MPG would have been nice.

Do you mean for the US? I thought Saab never had any plans for the diesels here.

Oh they had more then plans. It was Due in to dealerships for the 2010 year and they sort of released the ordering details in late 2009. I was inquiring weekly when I learned about it - sadly with GM going south they dragged Saab down with them and the last chance the US had at Saab diesels faded away with the 2011 MY. New emission regulations on diesels made it less then an idea. The cost would have been huge in any event for Saab to ship the diesels over - but there was ALMOST the fact you could have ordered one.

Regular gas recently dropped and is $3.50 where I live. Diesel still is at $4.20 for a week now. I thought when gas prices go down, diesel would go down as well.

They do cost more in the beginning but maintenance is less often (not cheaper though) and the engines are just breaking in when gasoline engines are dying. i went last year to go look at a older MB diesel and half the body was missing but it still started and drove like a champ haha

Especially when Diesel is basically less refined gasoline!
