European octane ratings are about 5 points higher than American between 85 and 105 octane, so European 95 DIN is American 90 RON.

I could have sworn I had seen 95 at a Shell here but maybe it was 92. Usually I'm just getting the highest they have available and trying not to watch when the numbers add up because it's so hateful.

I don't think I've ever seen 95 Octane in the US.

You will see higher octane in hotter climates due to higher possibility of knocking on hot summer days. I have seen 95 octane for sale in California, Arizona and Florida. In Alaska the highest octane available is 90.

Well it definitely wasn't someplace warm because it's cold as hell here.
It was probably 92 or 93 and I just wasn't paying attention.
