The 9-4x might end up being one of the few collectible SUVs from the end of this decade due to the low production numbers and its historic significance as being the last cars made under the brand. I imagine most will be driven around until parts supply issues keeps them off the road, but a few ones will be spirited away with low mileage into climate controlled garages by owners with well lined pockets. I wonder what a mint 9-4x will fetch in 30 or 40 years from now, provided we don't get legislated out of using petrol cars...

It might have been at that time. Viggens and a c900 I have were also built in Finland.

Very strange sign.
Several Saabs were not produced in Trollhattan. The 9-4X is one. The 9-2X and 9-7X are others. The 600 was built by Lancia.
In the early 1970's, a small number of Saabs were assembled in Belgium for about 5 years. Saab assembly in Chile and Taiwan were also studied but never close to fruition. The Saab plant in Arlov made the Sonnett II. That same plant made a classic 900 that I owned but the 900 were built in several factories, including in Finland, which made a 3 door that I owned. The 9-3SS convertible was made in Austria but later models in Trollhattan. A few 9-3SS were made from leftover parts in Nykoping after Saab shut down. There are probably other examples.
Maybe the sign mean that the 9-4X was the only car made outside of Trollhattan at the time Saab ceased building cars?

Saabs were also made in Denmark for about 5 years: http://saabworld.org/saab-assembly-a...ark-1957-1963/
And even in Uruguay but in very small numbers. It would be interesting to know if any of those Saabs still exists today.
