    I ended up doing the same thing on both sides -- slide a slightly larger hose in from the engine side of the firewall and clamped it onto the old hose which I cut off -- works fine for both sides. The driver's side could be done in an hour if you started by taking out the wiper motor and the A-pilar cover (with speaker) from the inside, slide a new hose in and clamp it to the cut-off old hose.

    This link is a great article on the SRX water leak problems -- applies to 9-4x as well except for GM taking any responsibility whatsoever.
