2008 9-3 wagon audio upgrade
Hey guys,
New here and I just bought a 08 Sport Wagon. Question is, looking to upgrade sound, but not really sure as to what sound system I have. There is a 10" subwoofer in the trunk under the floor. There aren't any Bose badges anywhere in the car, so I don't think I have that. Is this something someone could help me out with? I want some more lower end bass even if it is just adding an amp to the stock sub.

Could you add an amp with a line level converter and replace the existing sub? i'd hit up a local audio shop for recomendations on a sub that could work in the existing enclosure. Just a thought to get the conversation rolling...
I'm not sure of the setup in those cars, if it is a seperate amp for the sub that is already fed off and RCA type plug you'd just need to run new power and ground to replace an existing amp... still think you'd need to replace to sub, maybe not.

The WIS shows only the Bose system has the subwoofer. The regular Premium 150 system doesn't have it so it looks like you have the Bose Centerpoint Surround System.

That may be the route I am going to go. Ordered some front and rear speakers for some high clarity, but I really want the lower end to be more pronounced with as little effort as possible. The system I have looks like 10 speakers in all. 5 (including tweeters) in the dash, 2 in the front door, 2 in the truck gate, and the subwoofer.

Do you know my options or know where I can look to either put some more power to the sub or do I have to scratch it and get a new one?

I guess another question I have is, is there any other way to tell that it is a Bose system other that the Bose badges?

Do you have the 2.0T or Aero? All 2008 Aero's have the Bose system and it was optional for the 2.0T in the US.

Are the speakers in the wagon back door 3.5" also? What can the subwoofer handle power wise?
