Interior Lights....
I cracked open the Bentley repair manual and have used it to diagnose and temporarily fix my interior light problem - they weren't working, but all the fuses and relays were good, as were the lamps.
I've tracked down and diagnosed the problem for the interior lights. Everything is fine with the exception of the Interior Light Switch (OEM Part 9559766). I tried to fix the switch, but the corrosion/oxidation on the inside was beyond repair. Someone at some point had installed the switch so it was only connected to two jumpers. I figured this might be the problem, but no such luck. I've ordered a new part from an online vendor (don't know if I'm allowed to mention them by name, so I won't, since there might be fees for advertising here and we don't want to cheese off the pays) and hope this should do the trick.
I'll keep you posted.

There's no reason not to post a link to their site. It helps us all and everyone does it.

Ordered the switch from The Saab Site, but this morning got the bad news - evidently these things are back-ordered nationally, with no anticipated arrival date. So I've been credited. Guess it's time to make that temporary fix look a little more permanent.
Pissed (not at The Saab Site - they were Johnny-on-the-spot with the credit) at the fact that I can't make the repair correctly.
So - Does anyone have a 9559766 Interior light switch that they are willing to part with?

So i bolted over to E-Europarts.Com Saab Parts | Wholesale Saab Parts | eEuroparts.comĀ® and found the same switch for about a dollar more, but with free shipping - the total comes out about the same. There's kind of a long lead time on shipping, but we'll see what happens with this one.

There are 4 listed on eBay. That is probably the quickest way to get one. http://www.ebay.com/sch/i.html?_trks...+saab&_sacat=0

As an aside, I belong to a CB Radio site which takes in ad dollars to support the forum. They get pissed off when you mention other vendors who are not sponsors, therefore I went the conservative route. Since I now Know, I'll be sure to post the good and bad points of my online dealings.

When eEuroparts lists a part as "Usually ships in 5-7 business days", it means they don't have them in stock and they have to order from Saab. If they are back-ordered nationally, there is a big chance they will not be able to get one either.

Well, I guess we'll see how fast they either A) Ship the part; or B) Let me know they're out of stock nationally and issue a credit.
I'll likely be heading for the "eBay solution" eventually, but we'll see.
