Strange convertible top noises

I have a question concerning the covertible top to my 2007 9-3. I recently moved the vehicle from Florida to Iowa using a tow dolly behind a U-Haul. Every since we got to Iowa, and I attempt to put the top down, it seems to hang-up and then there is a load "pop" before it become unattached to the left front latch on the windshield frame. It also seems to bind up when I try to close the top. Keep in mind, the top still opens and closes, but it never made these sounds. It the top out-of-aline and if so, is there a way to re-aline the top? Is it something I can do or do I need to take it to a mechanic? Thanks.

I recently transported my 2007 Saab 9-3 convertible from Florida to Iowa. I used a tow dolly pulled by a U-Haul truck. Prior to the move, my convertible top operated flawlessly. Since arriving in Iowa, every time I try to put the top down or even back up, there is a loud popping noise. The top seems to be coming from the front windshield latches. Is there a possibility that in the move the top became twisted and now binds as it tries to latch or unlatch. If so, can the top be re-aligned or adjusted? A simple task or a task for a mechanic? Thanks.

I merged this with the previous thread. Hopefully you'll get some responses soon. Unfortunately, I never owned a Saab convertible so I am not much help.

I had a similar problem, had to take it to a main dealer to resolve.
