I still would like to know what the diff is other than price among these DIC's. Is ProParts making the GS brand DIC, vice versa? Paying a big diff. in cash for the same
thing is my concern mainly. How do you know.........does anyone know? I know I wouldn't buy a GMC when the Chevy costs less w/ smaller badge.

I picked up a used DIC from Goldwing for $160 with a 1 year warranty. I have heard of to many issues with the ones from Rock Auto so I will pass on them.

If anyone stumbles across this post, I'd just like to ad that I bought a DIC from AIP Electronics via ebay... it was cheap $200, but it was also crap. It failed completely after less than 1000 miles, less than 90 days in my car. AIP said the 90 day warranty was up as the days started counting as soon as I purchased the DIC.... while it was sitting in their warehouse waiting to be shipped. Bad DIC bad supplier.

They advertise is as an OEM part and it sounds like it clearly isn't. Does it have a manufacturer name or Saab part sticker on it at all? $178 shipped doesn't sound like such a good deal after all. New original Saab DICs are selling for around $400 right now so still a big difference. Sorry to hear about your negative experience but thanks for sharing it here to help others.

There are no saab stickers on the part.
It was clearly a failed part. As soon as I put my old DIC back in the car it worked .... though the check engine code is now re-appearing (the reason for the new DIC in the first place)!
When I tried to return the part. They don't answer the phone, and they didn't answer my first email, only one sent a couple of days further on. I would have also like to have given the negative review on Ebay, but by the time all of this transpired it was just over the 90 days. Ah well, I'll be ordering genuine saab from eeuroparts or swespecialist.ca.. because I am in Canada.

Hope I can help, but I recently found an OEM DIC thru carquest.com, of course it was an hour away from my home but it was well worth for $265, OEM product except comes in standard box. For those that require a new coil, try to contact carquest part # 52-2117 oh btw... do not purchase thru ebay...since they're garbage, made cheaply!
