Looking for engine mounts that don't cost an arm and a leg
Anyone here have some inside information on where I can get the upper RH and LH mounts under 90.00?
I've looked at Eeuro, Rock, AutoPartsWarehouse, etc... I can't wrap my brain around the pass. side mount
coming in at 120-140.00 and the trans. mount at just over 100.00 Their friggin mounts!
Is GenuineSaab the only place to get the poly trans. mount for the torque rod? Auto. btw. Too bad GS doesn't
offer free shipping..........the poly mount is 45.00 w/shipping. Not being a tight wad, but don't you guys think
these are high prices for these parts? I can get a stainless steel high quality muffler for under the price of one
mount.

NOPE! The aftermarket mounts (Hutchinsons) work great. I also highly reccomend the poly trans mount from GS as it's cheaper and will last 10x's longer then any OEM style lower trans mount.

I have to agree with Jeff on all points. I have the poly mount in my 9-5 and its one of the better upgrades I've done to the car.

I have a poly mount from GS already. Unfortunately it was not concentric so I had to grind out the center more to get the bolt to thread
into the farthest hole.

I'm sure their high quality, just can't justify the price.

It keeps your engine in place - minimizes vibrations - keeps you and the others on the road safe - keeps other mounts from premature failure - they wear out.
How is spending $120 on a car which cost $35,000+ new that is now nearly 10 years old unjustifiable? Confused sorry. Buy a new car and explain why it costs so much. If you don't want to maintain it then don't - but you should be driving a Corolla if that is your mentality.

I look at the item itself, not so much it's intended purpose to justify pricing. Build, time and materials etc. etc. Nothing wrong w/researching all available options.
I take care of my car very well btw. If I have to pay these prices, I will pay them. Just a difference of opinion on our "mentality" here. When I look at the
physical substance of an item and compare that to another item that would seemingly cost more, but doesn't...........that is where I'm going here. I buy my
cars from private sellers to save on all the bs pricing factored into used and new car dealers. We're just going to have to agree to disagree on this. All good
here. I'm 6'5 so a Corolla won't cut it. Don't like them anyway....or Cadillacs.Last edited by IndpMind; 19 July 2012 at 20:35.
