Front suspension banging noise
There is a banging noise coming from the front suspension in my 2004 9-5 when going over any bumps in the road at lower speeds. I haven't checked it out in detail yet but it seems the anti-roll bar bushings are dried out / worn out. But I am not sure if that is the problem area.
I am not sure what could be causing this. The car has only 65K miles but spend its first 6 years in Southern Florida. Some other trim/rubber are dried out as well. I never experienced this noise on my previous 9-5.
Could it be the subframe, springs or dampers? It's difficult to check for when the car is not moving.

If the noisd is on one side at all timed it is a strut bearing. If the noise is on one side but you can hear it when going over bumps on both sides then it is a swsy bar link.

The only time you would hear/feel anything from worn strut bearings is when you would be turning from side to side, not going over bumps.

On the NG900 the strut bearing will make popping noises when failing, it did so on mine. The 9-5 uses the same bearings as the 900, only the mounts are slighty current.

Thanks for the advise so far. I need to take a closer look and see if I can move any parts like the sway bar by hand or visually inspect to locate the problem.

If it happens only over bumps it is definetly your sway bar links. While you there check out your ball joints and tierod ends. Also before you buy your sway bar links look around for some with grease fitting's on them. That way you will get some more life out of them then the sealed ones. I think Moog is the ones that have the fittings..

You're talking about #19, right? Looking in the WIS, those seem very easy to replace. I'll take a closer look today.
Sway bar, anti-roll bar and stabilizer bar all seem to refer to the same bar.

Yes, #19, they're very common on the 9-5 and easy to replace. I did the ones on my 9-5 at 45k if I remember right.
