stupid speed sensor
I have a 95 9000 CSE, which us having some issues with its speedometer sensor. The trans was swapped recently, and hooked up a new gear and sensor for the speedometer. Tested it to be sure it worked and gauge was functional. Doesn't do a damn thing when plugged into the transmission, leading me to believe the internal gear is shot. Any ways around this, or am I totally screwed and have to pull the trans? The car drives like shit with no speed input to the ecu, not boosting much and stalling when coming to a stop.

I think to change the internal gear you will have to pull the transmission. You can pull the speed sensor and look in to check Perhaps the speed sensor itself is to blame.

Speed sensor itself seems to be fine. Not sure what I'm looking for inside the trans at this point. Felt around in the spot where the sensor and its gear drop in, but as I said, wasn't sure what to look for. Nothing stood out as being unusual. Not in a place where I can pull the trans at this point in time, and won't be for a couple months probably. Is there any way I can trick T5 into thinking I have a functional sensor? Don't care if the speedometer works, got GPS to cover that. I've heard of guys doing that, but the procedure is kind of vague.

Check with Mike_D on SL I think there is a way but it is a compromise on overall performance.
