I've never heard them called that and I've been around and involved heavily with Saabs for over 7 years now (including 3 years helping start and run a Saab specialty shop).
As I said, they were carry over from the rally days ... something that had been long stopped by the time of the original 9-3.
And I would hazzard that the bean counters looked at that part and asked why they were putting money into a couple of pieces that could easily be eliminated.
Mine used to drag over speed bumps and going up and down driveways and I actually missed that happening when I moved to my first 9-5. :-(President, The Saab Club of Canada

Weird, even before getting involved with SAABs I heard them called snow flaps. Must be a USA thing.

-You find out that your brother's friend is a Saab entusiest and used to own a C900t, so you have an hour long conversation the first time you meet them.
-You ca't help but show everybody the Sport button. And they always tell you to push it.
-You talk way too much about your car. When someone says, "can we have a conversation that isn't about your car?" you remian silent for a few minutes.
-Multiple papers for school assignments have had to do with Saab.
-People ask " Saabs, are those German or British?"
-You actually run premium because it gives you a 10% power increase.
-You passed up a Mercedes for it
-Your email address has the word turbo in it.
-You can trust people on the internet to diagnose your car, because almost all of them are upstanding people willing to help.Last edited by J-Rod; 20 August 2011 at 02:12.

When you have to show the guy doing the safety inspection that the car has only one reverse light and the other light is the rear fog light.

When you have to show anyone that drives your car how to put it in reverse.
When driving something OTS(other than Saab)you instinctively go for the center console to start the car.
When you have the rear fog light on, people tell you a)you have a light out or b) you have a brake light stuck on.

Sorry ... when you what???
When other people don't want to drive your car just because they don't get it, never mind whether or not they can find the ignition or how to get it out of reverse.
When you find that your ex-wife parks her Toyota Corolla (with manual transmission) in reverse ... even years later!President, The Saab Club of Canada

-When you can start your car without the clutch down. (Found that out yesterday with my friends 900)
-When you always remind your BMW friends of your turbo. And they remind you of they're RWD, then you bring up snow.I don't drive fast...I fly slow

Overall argue adapting to a new European
Car brands advertise to contract to 600 dealers from all Spain
Eight brands (Opel, Tata, Saab, Peugeot, Ford, Suzuki, Honda and Chrysler) have submitted letters members of their dealer networks with a notice period of two years completion of contracts.
In the case of Saab and Honda need to adapt to the market to justify terminations take effect within two years. Swedish brand sources explain that the letter, February, only referred to 13 dealers who will work with them, of which ten have agreed by mutual agreement.
