Hello from a new owner of a 1989 Saab 900 16 valve!
Hey all!
Just posting to say hello!
I recently bought a 1989 Saab 900 16 Valve Auto. I bought it from the original owner. She has 107k miles on the odometer, a 3 speed Borg Warner automatic, Edwardian Gray Paint, and still beats like a new car!
What made me buy this car was how amazing it was physically and mechanically. Not a single bit of rust ANYWHERE that you would expect on a 900.
Again, just dropping in to say hi, and I hope to get to know you guys a bit more!
Kyle

Edwardian Grey is one of my favorites. Looks like a great car.

Thanks!
You would be surprised at how this beauty drives, even with the Borg Warner Slushbox.
The owner even gave me a full service history, a buttload of spare parts, the original window sticker, and of course, as a true saab fanatic, the Saab-Scania Story book.

Sounds like it couldn't have gone better. I like the original window sticker. It's the best when you can get that.

I thought I had seen this car before. Time capsule: 1989 base Saab 900 - SaabWorld Marketplace
The asking price seemed very reasonable (or almost too low) for a 900 in that condition. Congrats with your Saab and welcome to the site. Is this your first Saab?

Thanks Jay!
Again, I couldn't agree more. Reason why I like gray is because of Saab!Kyle Hudson

As far as physical ownership goes, yes, and this is the very same car as the article you have posted mentioned!
In the past, I've had 3 9-5s. a 1998 9-5 (#103 out of 250 original US models, all were painted midnight blue with tan interior, fully loaded for '99 model year), a 1999 9-5 Wagon (Chili Red), and another 1999 9-5 Sedan (this one was white, a 5 speed, and my father and I did an aero top end and aero turbo, boosting the car to about 220 hp.)
It's the only car I feel that drives like it should. I work for Volkswagen, and when I drive the new Passats and Jettas and GTI's, You just get this sense of....well, I would want to say devoid of fun.Last edited by TheSaabNinja; 13 March 2012 at 01:03. Reason: forgot info.

Looks like you picked up the right Swede! Had I not already bought a Saturn as my DD - I'd of been all over that 900 base when it went up for sale. I'd still sell my Saturn for a manual version of that car any day
Welcome to SW! Have you had the pleasures of finding Tweek (also lives near you in VA) and drive an 07' 9-5 Wagon and an 85' SPGEuropean Motor Services, LLC - Point Pleasant, PA 18950 - www.europeanmotorsvc.com
