Throttle body question

Cleaned my throttle body yesterday and found that there is a pool of oil at the inlet manifold area. Is excess oil from the PCV return accumulated there normal?



Also noticed that my O-ring is different as in the picture. Did they change it in the facelifted model? can't see this in the EPC or WIS.

have you had the PCV update on your car? Some oil is normal, a "pool" of oil, not good
did you feel improved throttle response after cleaning it?

Mine's a 2006 facelifted model and it doesn't need the PCV update.

Not sure how the oil accumulated there though.

Yes i did feel some improvement on throttle response.

Thinking i might take out the oil catch tank and give it a clean. could it be full?

Ok i just found out there are two throttle body parts #[FONT=sans-serif]5950191 for 2004-2009 and #9188186 for 1999 to 2003

guess that is why the O-ring is different.

Also found that there is a return for the oil catch tank back to the oil sump. Will check if that is blocked or restrictive in anyway.

hmm, i haven't had this problem, but keep me posted in case I ever do have the problem lol
