Saw a nice one yesterday
Hi, all! I saw this very nice 9-3 TurboX yesterday morning. What a car!
Unfortunately I was in a rush, so I couldn't snap more pictures. I was impressed by the very snazzy wheels and brake calipers.
Wouldn't mind those brakes on my 9-5 Thought I'd share this with you all to appreciate it.
I don't think I'd be wrong in saying it was probably the hottest Saab to date, right? It's more aggressive than the 9-3 Aero, even though I think the output is very similar. What a car!

Looks like a Hirsch package of some sorts, there was one today at the SAAB Meeting in the Bavarian Forest, same color, same wheels, same rear valance, but it had some Hirsch badges your doesn't.

The hottest "Saab" was actually a 9-3 with 320 horses. The problem was though it was built on the same line, it had Caddy trim and was sold as the BLS. It shows briefly in a Top Grear UK episode and I don't think they ever saw the US market. There are also some 300 horse late series 9-5's running around. You still have to consider the 9-7 Aero of 390 horses though it's not really a Saab.

Definitely one of the hottest Saabs. I think 'hottest' applies to more than just engine power. The Turbo X may not be that special on paper when it comes to specifications compared to other, more recent 9-3 but it definitely is special. The wheels, the bodywork and interior details and specs, together with the launch and advertising makes it a future classic. I think pretty similar to the 900 SPG and others.

I think it really was special, especially compared to the last, somewhat neutered 9-3's. They killed off the 2.8 T Aero not long after that, and only kept the 2.0T 200hp motors, even in Aero trim, which seems silly. Maybe that was just the US market, though.
If I found one after my 9-5 Aero is paid off, I'd be tempted to trade it in.
