- 1989 Saab 9000 Turbo
Hello
Hello everyone,
Just this past weekend I have gotten my first Saab, an Automatic 1989 Saab 9000 Turbo. I obtained it for free from someone down in Virginia, except due to lack of flexibility in work hours I paid to get it shipped up here to Ohio. The car is in pretty solid shape, with a little bit of rust here and there. It has a few additional problems (I suppose that's obvious considering it was free). However, the problems so far don't seem to be anything real major, or expensive. The car was stuck in reverse, and we found that the transmission linkage was broken, and we rigged up a temporary fix... So far this is the biggest issue we have found.
I found out about the Saab from my brother, who is actually registered on these forums, drwatson32 is his name. He recommended that I join these forums to help me learn a bit about fixing up a saab. So I hope to learn a good bit, and maybe be able to help someone else in the future.Last edited by Fink Dixel; 15 October 2012 at 21:15.

Welcome! I used to have a 1989 900 (in most countries, it was sold as the 900i). I used to think that only rich people have 9000's and not so rich people, like me, had 900's, especially normally aspirated 900's (non-turbos). So I envy you or, at least, would have back in 1989! Now, all 9-3 in the U.S. come with a turbo so I feel rich! ...or, rather, lucky that I now have a Saab turbo!

From my end, it'll be fun helping sort things since I eat/sleep/breathe c900s- for countless nights over the past several years, Sam (Euromobile900) and I have discussed the ins and outs of the c900, but now will have world to explore hah (never gotten to dig very deep into a 9k 'till now) : )
