Crankshaft Position Sensor??
2003 9-5 Aero...75k miles, stalled on freeway but did eventually start back. Poor acceleration on freeway a time or two. Now stalled on back road. Cranks but won't start. Bad CPS? I'm hoping crankshaft position sensor from my research, and not the fuel pump!! I have a CPS on order. Opinions from those more experienced would be great!!!

Did you get a Check Engine Light at all or did you check for any OBD codes?

No CEL's. Can't do a diagnostic because out in the middle of nowhere
Just drove out to car and tried again to start it. Still cranks but no start. I read about watching the RPMs for movement during crank...no movement.

So, I replaced the crankshaft position sensor. NOT easy!! Even with my small hands. I had to drop the down exhaust to access the nut that holds the heat shield/CPS and take off the Mass Air Flow pipe to access the electrical connectors. I learned how to jack the car up and got under it for the first time. I accessed from the top and from underneath. Finally got it finished and was so excited when the car started!! But then it wouldn't start again. Sooo...did some more research and found out about the fuel pump being under the back seat!! What?? Checked the two bigger electric lines and the voltage was 12. So, bad fuel pump. Found a good DIY and got it done. Up and running again! Taking out the pump was a bit tricky and ended up just cutting the line that goes from the top of the pump to the bottom as it seemed to be impeding the removal process and then it came right out. The new one went right in. Very simple job!
