How to heat ABS plastic so it is slightly pliable?
My third brake light cover comes off. It seems to be a very common problem. The cover is supposed to snap on. Since I already bought a new cover, I'm willing to try to heat up the cover and pinch the snap fitting to make it tighter.
How should I heat up the plastic?
Boiling water? (not hot enough)
Oven?
Open flame?

I bought a hair dryer for these kind of things, especially for removing stickers. Some have different heat settings.
Plastic and an open flame probably isn't a good combination.
