Time to resurrect this post. I'm probably gonna need a new DIC sooner rather than later and my local dealer's price is CA$631 which is pretty brutal. My friend has dealer pricing via CarQuest and and I was going to grab the Beck/Arnley one for CA$225 but I saw that this particular one seems to have the worst possible reputation. I'm fine with a part that cost 1/3 of the price lasting less, but I'm definitely not cool with it potentially damaging my engine.
So, about the CarQuest DIC that's been mentioned here (CQ Part # 52-2117 CARQUEST - Product Information:CARQUEST Ignition Coils By Wells). Is this "by Wells" part OEM?

Yes, the CarQuest sourced part comes in a large flat box labeled Wells Vehicle Electronics, or something similar. It is the SEM manufactured DIC/IDM complete with the Saab part number and insignia.
Others have said they have found Airtex/Wells branded units for slightly less than CarQuest that are also authentic.

Last chance for low prices on new DIC/IDM units

Is this the Airtex/Wells DIC that's authentic?

I've had the Airtex unit from Rock Auto delivered today and it is indeed the OEM DIC:
Price is US$148.99 before shipping/taxes. I paid Canadian $262.29 after all additional charges. Dealership would've been $600 before taxes.

I can also confirm that the Airtex wells DIC IDM Coil module from Rockauto is authentic SAAB. Just purchased for $150 and installed the other week, and it's been working great.

My Airtex/Wells black coil from Rockauto.com is still going strong and it's been 2 months and some change. In case anyone was wondering.
