I had a classic 900, not a NG. I think the oil pan for the four cyl is flat and towards the back is a 13 mm plug.

Are you trying to empty the engine oil or transmission oil? If transmission, is it manual or auto?

There is a drain plug on the gearbox, just open it, drain it, torque the drain plug to 40 Nm (about 30 ft/lb), and fill the transmission through the dipstick neck.
Optionally you can also disconnect the oil line leading from the transmission to the oil cooler and drain it through there. The torque for the bolt head on the line is 24 Nm (or 17.5 ft/lb).Now: '00 Saab 9-5 Aero Combi - '89 Peugeot 205 CTI - '91 Peugeot 309 GTI

I was actually looking in the WIS and couldn't find a picture for it. I find mention of removing the drain plug or oil cooler lines to drain it, but no pictures of the drain plug. My NG900 had a manual transmission so I don't know the location of your drain plug. Should be on a low spot on the transmission, of course. I'll fire up the WIS later and check it again, I think there are pictures of the oil cooler lines.

As you look at the front of the car, the drain plug is located on the right part of the gearbox. It's a 24 mm nut, if I remember correctly. Also, keep in mind that only 3,xx liters of oil will drain at one time. The AT box has a 7 liter capacity, so it will take quite a number of these changes until you can say you have fresh oil in there.
