    ACC/Heater Blower wont turn off

    I have a 2002 9-3 with air con and the blower will not switch off even with engine off and keys out,it is going full speed all the time,only way to switch off is take Fan motor acc fuse out.I have swapped the a/c control unit inside car but still not difference.Has anyone any ideas

    You have a FAN SPEED CONTROLLER that has gone bad. Get a new or good used one. Easy fix. You may also consider replacing the blower motor too as they are usually the reason the resistors go bad.

    Hi,Thanks for reply,My fan speed controller is part of my a/c control unit so do you think that is what needs replacing as ive already swapped it once.?

    The fan controller is a separate part from the ACC control unit. Swapping the unit unfortunately will not fix the speed controller. This is what you are looking for (sorry, US site).

    Ensure it works for your 9-3. There is a similar looking speed controller that only fits the 1994 to mid 1996 900's.

    Could you possibly tell me where the fan speed controller is on car please,thought someone put on another forum that it was behind glove box but i could not find it,then i thought after what country was that person in as the glove box is on left side in uk but other side most other places?

    Hmmm... Do you know if your heater box is near the passenger foot well? On the LHD models, it is on the right side of the heater box, near the firewall.

    My guess is that it would be the reverse of this. If they didn't reverse everything, it could be just in the driver side foot well for you.

    Thanks for reply again,will look tomorrow,Not sure what side my heater box is on.

    Hi,Found Fan Speed Controller (5045158)today,it was on left hand side(passenger Side in Uk) like your picture shows behind a small bit of plastic trim.just got to get a new one now.Many thanks for your help.
