How do I turn the engine light off Saab 9-3 1.9 TiD Vector Sport 2005

How do I turn the engine light off? There's nothing wrong with the car but the engine light is on for some reason. It happened last year and just went out. How do i turn it off?

If it was on before and went out by itself, the problem was solved. For example, a gas cap not tightened properly to 3 clicks or just worn seal (I had this problem myself), a P89 code will be thrown indicating low fuel pressure. When a technician checked the pressure at the fuel rail, it was normal. This usually happened when the tank got low, a full tank would usually clear itself. In this case, the gas cap was faulty letting gaseous pressure out of the tan, it has been replaced with no thrown codes to date.

Being it's a Diesel there won't be any fuel cap issues there

Code would need to be pulled to know WHAT is the area of defect. It could be nothing or it could be something.....

Remove your Negative cable from your battery for 5 minutes and then reconnect, that will clear the code unless the problem is still currently occurring and then the light will come back. Or you can also remove fuse #2 which does the same thing as disconnecting the battery cable.
