    Alarm disconnect okay?

    Hello all,

    On my 2001 9-5 SE wagon what would be the downside to simply disconnecting the alarm cable at the box by the front wheel for a couple of weeks, other than the obvious one of not having an alarm?

    You will see message on the SID every time you start the car. There are no other downsides.

    For now;
    Remove L/F Wheel
    Remove L/F wheel Liner
    Unplug Siren Connector
    Reinstall Liner and Wheel

    Later:
    Find a shop or a person with a Saab software Tech2
    Get them to reprogram your SID to NOT show the service theft alarm message.
    Get them to reprogram TWICE to NOT have an alarm installed.
    Go Back into the SID and redo the NO on the msg selection.

    THESE OPTIONS MUST BE SELECTED FROM THE LIST - IT WILL NOT WORK IF YOU JUST "CHANGE" SETTING.

    Car will now not promt for service theft alarm, nor will it set the alarm off ever again at random - and now the car HORN will be your lock/unlock audible.

    Pay your Tech2 operator in beer or predetermind means.

    I removed the whole alarm, since it was going off for no reason, but I don't get the SID message on my 2001 95 Aero for some unknown reason.
