Gray Design is a design studio with a focus on creating uniqueness through beauty and visual extravagance. We want to be able to present our prospective clients with compelling designs that they didn't know were possible or even existed, yet are irresistible.

Founded by Eduard Gray, Gray Design has quickly become a recognizable brand synonymous with extravagance and daring, with a range of supercar designs, concepts and luxury yachts that have been well received across the globe
There are few icons in the automotive world whose lines and shapes stand the test of time like the Saab 92001. It is the simplicity of these perfectly proportioned curves whose elementary geometry and unbroken lines create a body that is at once instantly recognisable and desirable.

The Saab 93 Mark III is merely an attempt to take these basic lines and grow them into a larger hatchback model, while at the same time incorporating design aspects from past design language and harmoniously blending them into a modern classic.

Design staples of the Saab DNA, such as the 'hockey stick' window trim, and the horizontal chrome trim through the grill, are joined by more recent features, such as the familiar frontal intakes, horizontal brake light configuration and side vent, introduced on the short-lived, next generation 95 model. Also present is the classic spoiler that harkens back to Saabs memorable racing accomplishments, although the single exhaust pipe is a new addition.

Accompanying these features are elements that have been reintroduced to the design from the iconic models of the past. We see a return of the pointed hood lines and the horizontal grill of the original 92001. The single curve from nose to tail of the car and the characteristic rounded back window have also been implemented to tie the design to it's roots. Perhaps most notably is the aerofoil shape of the body which utilises the same simplistic curve to define the volume of the body as the original.

In every way, the 93 Mark III has been inspired and referenced from the models that made Saab the beloved brand that it is today and it is our great pleasure to share these designs with the fans and creatives that gave life to this cherished brand.

The wheels are too big but that seems to be the design trend of the last 10 years. It certainly looks expensive and better than most of what is coming out of Germany these days. If Saab still existed, my suggestion would be to hire Eduard Gray as chief designer. Fantastic design.

When a Saab dies, the world becomes a little less quirky.

Those door handles annoy me. Aside from that and the oversized wheels - it's not terrible, and agreed with the better than Castroita design :/ Also - where are the Rally Inspired FOG/Driving Lights @?

The Optima is a very nice looking car, one of the best designs for family sedans. Nothing wrong with having a similar look.

What I like most about this design is it doesn't try to include many old design features at all. They used the UrSaab profile but that's about it. I particularly like the rounded rear with big glass hatch, spoiler and single center exhaust. I am sure many will see Porsche design here but who cares? It sure looks much better than a Panamera.

NEVS, please employ Gray Design and build the damn thing with proper engines !
With a design like this, proper turbo engines, a good quality interior and top notch safety, the world will know that SAAB is back in the game. A car like this is the best marketing you could ever have.

This along with the Castroita design proves Spyker was reversing GM's (really) dumb move that eliminated hatchbacks from the SAAB line up. Gray's design is truly inspired and I'm sure the over-sized wheels and the functional awkwardness of the rear lid would have been worked out before any production models were built. Could this car have saved SAAB or would it have been too little too late? The fate of the new 9-5 doesn't offer much encouragement...
