Back to owning 6 Saab's.... this makes Saab #13
So..... I guess I should start this thread off as such;
Hi
(audience participates with response)
My Name is Jeff (Burnsside) and I have a problem........
So yeah - tomorrow I am buying my FIRST 9-3 SPORT SEDAN! Saab # 13 on my belt and will put me back at 6 SAAB's under my roof. Buying a 2005 9-3 AUTOMATIC for $500 with 191K on it. Has no working keys and the front bumper is rough. Car needs some work - but nothing major, nor parts I don't have or can't get cheap.
Some pictures as it sits waiting for me to fix it;
This car will get the Anniversary 17" Wheels as the front tires on it are shot. I have an AERO front lip spoiler which I'll have to paint. I may pull the front bumper off and send it out to be refinished/repaired locally too. It's a bit of an eye-sore.
Overall once I get it to start - should be a nice car for the wife. Now I can dump that Ford Escort wagon I bought cheap too.European Motor Services, LLC - Point Pleasant, PA 18950 - www.europeanmotorsvc.com

191K miles is pretty high but you can't go wrong for only $500. Parting it out would even make you a good profit but it looks too good for that.
Saab #13 eh? I have some catching up to do.

Good choice as Frank stated, you can part it out if things don't work out. Do you have access to a Tech II?

Cause folks over there likely fix their cars and enjoy them - not bitch about how they cost too much to fix when they decline all repairs up to it's demise. Then I buy them cheap and give it new life.

Heard it run today - sounds healthy. Had to use a shop test CIM & key and perform some tricky Tech2 stuff I'll be ordering a used CIM with key from goldwing prolly as mine was no good.

I have it running - installed an AUX jack kit - cleaned most of the interior and put on 2 good used tires up front.
I replaced the front springs (broken) with some Aero Springs for a V6 car (and some used 2006 Aero Struts). Replaced the worn sway bar end links. Found a bad outter left tie rod (ordered) and a shot left front wheel bearing hub (also ordered). Registered it and tag is on. I replaced 9 in-op bulbs. Going to restore the headlights today and put the interior back together.
Need to locate a front bumper w/out the headlamp washers. Mine is trashed beyond saving. Any color will do - I'll get it painted.European Motor Services, LLC - Point Pleasant, PA 18950 - www.europeanmotorsvc.com
