Reverse light not working.
The gremlins are back in the car. 2/3 weeks ago the N/S reverse light gave out. No mention on the SID. I've checked the bulb and replaced it. No change. I've changed over the holders from N/S to O/S. Only one side lit up. No matter which way round the N/S doesn't light. It used to. I've even drilled the N/S foglight so that I have both side lit. The foglights are fine and both light. Just not the reverse light. I'm concerned as the MOT is due in the next few weeks and beginning of June we go to France. We all know how the French authorities like the British.
I was thinking about wiring the N/S to the O/S. If that would help.More things change. The more they stay the same.

My first guess is the wiring may be the problem. Check out this thread: http://saabworld.net/f29/sedan-boot-...aab-9-5-a-164/

Cheers Frank, had a look at the post. Took my wiring out and the wire wasn't just wearing out it had broken clean in half. So with a bit of solder and tape to reinforce. Done! Nice and easy.

Still wrapping my head around the single rear fog and single reverse light. Saabs are quirky beasts.

I have a similar problem: no reverse lights come on as well as the rear fog (SID reads FOG LIGHT FAILURE). Checked that wretched harness again - ground was severed. Repaired the connection but the problem persists. Any insight would be greatly appreciated.

Check your fuses - when those wires short out they like to pop fuses.

AT ONE SIR,
I have two reverse lenses and bulbs. You really only have one clear uncolored lense?
