Can't use the WIS

Just downloaded the newest version of the WIS . Only problem is my computer is Windows 8 and says that it can't run on this computer. Anyone have an idea what to do ?

I know it doesn't run on Windows 7 64-bit but does on 32-bit. I can't imagine there is much of a difference between Windows 7 and 8 so it sounds like you have Windows 8 64-bit.

There was XP-mode in Windows 7 but I don't think 8 still supports that. Search for virtual machines under Windows 8 and see what you can find.

I am using VirtualBox on OS X and run a virtual XP machine with the WIS. Works great. https://www.virtualbox.org/

Oh my, my WIS doesn't work with Windows 7 so I will have to use an old computer that I have and used to use the WIS on.

If you download this it will work. I have and it works on my 7 64bit. Uninstall your current Wis 1st then install after the virtual machine is loaded.

Mike are you saying download Virtual Box to get the WIS to work, how do you use it? I just picked up a WIS copy and I'm having the same problems. Windows 7 64 bit.

Could you explain how to use WIS using virtualbox?

I installed VirtualBox on my Mac, installed Windows XP in VirtualBox and then installed the WIS. Not sure how VirtualBox works on Windows.

Thanks Wulf. I've got it working. I downloaded Oracles VirtualBox, followed by Bittorrent so that I could download a ISO copy of Windows XP from Pirate Bay. I install XP on the virtual computer and used a portable hard drive to transfer the WIS files. You cannot transfer files from your main computer to the virtual. If anyone wants links to any of the downloads; WIS, Xp, etc. shoot me an email.

Yeah - and now that XP will lose all support from MS - our work computers will be ticking time bombs soon. I'll be emailing SPNA to see what they plan on doing to fix the operating system problem. I can't run EPC or WIS from home anymore since I have Win8.....
