Welcome aboard jmac 200t.

Have you noticed any slowness / sluggishness in the roof operation prior to this failure? Have you pulled Fuse #2 to reset ECU?

OK, lets try this, manually drop the top, disconnected the battery, waited 10 minutes, and the Top should work normally.

Link to a PDF from the WIS on manual top operation (opening and closing):

I know there is a PDF of the same instructions on this forum somewhere but I could not find it.

I assume you have the owners manual, so have the procedure to lower and raise the roof manually.

Don't try to move the roof or tourneau cover without releasing the emergancy hydraulic valve - you'll break something.

During the procedure you are asked to open the hydraulic valve, this is on top of the hydraulic system, which includes the reservoir. If you look in from the boot, below where the hole for the valve is, there should be a hole in the carpet, that allows you to see the reservior and level line.
Personally I prefer to remove the ski hole cover, undo the hydraulic assy. and lift it out to inspect it.

However, if the ping happens immediately, then there is something else wrong - a failure because of low oil will normally show up as the motor whirring for a while and then a ping. (The timer that expects a part to be moving finally expires after a microswitch hasn't activated. )
Have to have someone push down on the back as I operated the switch to close the roof. The rear latches have to be fully engaged for the latch mechanism to lock.

My first move would be to lift up the back (after releasing the emergency valve) and inspect the 5th bow microswitch and the microswitches on the latches in the tourneau cover for correct operation.
