But why, with the exception of the seats from an Aero and the upcale wheels (wife has Aero wheels), would I want to spend $58,000 for a car that I just spent $24,000 USD for and it doesn't even appear to have XWD? I love the "Viggenesque" blue and all but that's a cost premium of $34,000 and then perhaps, with XWD another $5000?

$90,368 for a (thoughly slightly), used 9-5 Aero with only around 1,000k on the clock! For that and the change in my pockets I could be driving a new ZR1.

Kind of proves to me that the Euros are rolling in dough (by comparison). Before I retired I asked a few folks from the Balkan states, now that we are getting older, will you be headed back. It was unanimous that with the shift in wealth, though the original plan was to work here for 20 years, they would retire to Poland or Serbia. No way to do that now claiming they would be at a loss with the exchange rates that lopsided.

Those prices include VAT (21%) and other special taxes for new cars. Taxes can be as high as 50% of the value of the car in the Netherlands. On used cars with more than 6K kilometers, you don't pay VAT though.

A Cadillac ATS with the 2.0 turbo engine costs more than € 50,000 = US$ 65K. The Saab 9-4X was going to be priced the same as the Caddy SRX and would have started at € 75,000 so close to US$ 100K. The Chevy Camaro with V8 6.2L is over € 100K so around US$ 130K.

€ 45K for this used 9-3 is still high. But it's a unique color and they don't make them like this anymore.
